Joe Mathieu

Joe Mathieu, a news broadcasting veteran of over 20 years, is the morning anchor at WBZ NewsRadio 1030 – New England’s most listened to radio station. Joe Mathieu was also featured on WBZ-AM’s airwaves for many years as the anchor for CBS Marketwatch reports from 2000-2007.

Prior to joining WBZ NewsRadio Joe Mathieu was a program director and anchor at Sirius XM Satellite Radio in Washington, D.C. Joe created XM’s channel “P.O.T.U.S.” dedicated to covering the presidential election of 2008 and also anchored its daily news and talk program “The Press Pool.” He also anchored special events, from conventions to elections to inaugurations, and managed the channel’s White House coverage.

Joe Mathieu has worked in Boston at WRKO and also for Boch Broadcasting on Cape Cod where he was one of the youngest news directors in the country.

In his spare time, Joe Mathieu is also an avid aviation enthusiast. In 2009, Joe had the good fortune to fly with the US Air Force Thunderbirds. He also plays blues guitar.

A New England native, Joe attended high school in Connecticut and proceeded to Emerson College in Boston, MA. Both he and his wife are Emerson College alumni and they live with their young daughter in West Roxbury, MA.
