Jennifer Orell is overjoyed to return to her home state of Massachusetts after her travels took her to Australia, Europe, Canada, Alaska, Hawaii and nearly all of the continental United States. Looking for a change from the theatre scene, Jennifer is excited to be working on speaking engagements.
Prior to her return to Boston, Jennifer was living in Denver, Colorado, where she was the Artistic Coordinator and an Artistic Company member of the award winning Curious Theatre Company. In Colorado she also freelanced with the Avenue Theater, Aurora Fox Arts Center, Living Voices, Arvada Center, Nomad Theatre, Miners Alley Playhouse, and The Bug, among others. Jennifer drew accolades from Pulitzer Winning Playwright Suzan-Lori Parks for her direction of the short piece Veuve Clicquot, a part of the 365 Days/365 Plays Project staged at Curious Theatre Company.
In her spare time Jennifer has painted pottery for Felix Kniazev and Olga Julinska, a husband and wife team, who create marvelous ceramics under the name “Art Department” which have been displayed in museums and galleries around the world. She also enjoys working live events from time to time and has taken part in dozens of weddings and other celebrations across Massachusetts as a lighting designer with Boston Uplights. When she was not working, Jennifer enjoyed several seasons with the Quincy Women’s Softball League including one trophy winning year.
Jennifer earned her BFA in Theatre Production / Management from Emerson College in Boston where she met her talented husband and together they have a small and beloved Chihuahua mix named George Harrison.
