Did you know a football weighs between 14 and 15 ounces? Or that the players are assigned certain numbers to represent their position? Time to get your facts down before the start of NFL preseason. Here’s a glimpse at some of our football players and what they have to offer for your next event.

 
Jerome Bettis also known as “The Bus,” is a former American football halfback who played for the St. Louis Rams and The Pittsburgh Steelers of the NFL. In 1993, he was selected in the first round of the NFL drafts as the 10th overall pick by the Los Angeles Rams. Bettis had a successful rookie season by winning co-rookie of the year, Rams MVP, and the Sporting News Rookie of the Year. He retired in 2006 after the Steelers won Super Bowl XL.


Steve DeOssie is a former linebacker and long snapper for the Dallas Cowboys, the New York Giants, and the NewEngland Patriots. DeOssie was on the New York Giants ‘Super Bowl XXV championship team. He now hosts The New England Tailgate Show and is a Patriots studio analyst. 


Doug Flutie is a former quarterback for the Americans and Canadians. Flutie’s college years at Boston College lead him to fame. He received the Heisman Trophy and Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award. His “Hail Mary” touchdown pass in a game against Miami in 1984, is considered among the greatest moments in college football and American sports history.

Michael Strahan is an American retired football defensive end who spent his whole career playing for the New York Giants of the National Football League. He won a Super Bowl in his final season with the New York Giants, in 2007. He now co-hosts on the morning talk show, Live! with Kelly and Michael.
