AEI Speaker Rita Moreno is set to star opposite Natasha Lyonne in NBC’s single-camera comedy pilot Old Soul, from the hilarious mind of Amy Poehler.
Moreno will be playing a client at an elderly-care business described as a “flamboyant Broadway vet who’s been happily married to her writing partner/husband for more than 50 years.” (No surprise there!)
The show is co-created and executive-produced by Poehler, Josh Bycel, and Jonathan Fener, and David Wain will direct the pilot.
Despite just having received a lifetime achievement award at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, Moreno won’t let it stop her from achieving even more success. She is already one of only eleven people to earn an EGOT- that’s an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, AND a Tony.
