This coming Sunday is Veterans Day, a federal holiday that we celebrate in the United States every year to honor the service of all U.S. military veterans. AEI Speakers Bureau is proud to have a host of courageous veterans who can speak on many interesting topics. Here are just a few of the many veterans that we represent:
Dana Bowman caught people’s attention when he collided with a fellow Golden Knight teammate in midair during a training session. The force of the impact killed Bowman’s teammate and caused Bowman himself to lose his legs. In spite of this incredible loss, Bowman chose to re-enlist in the U.S. Army, becoming the first double amputee to do so. Bowman went on to become the Parachute Team’s lead speaker and recruiting commander, proving that success is still possible under adverse circumstances. Bowman can speak on numerous topics such as mastering change and conquering adversity.
Mike Abrashoff is a true leader. He took command of the worst performing Navy ship in the Pacific fleet and made it #1 – using the same crew! What drove the success was his realization that if things were going to improve, the first thing that needed to change was his own leadership style. Abrashoff wrote a best-selling book, “It’s Your Ship: Management Techniques from the Best Damn Ship in the Navy” about his experience. Abrashoff speaks on many topics including putting the leadership map to work and achieving a breakthrough performance.
Rob “Waldo” Waldman is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, where he served as a combat decorated fighter pilot. He is a professional leadership speaker and the author of the New York Times best-selling book “Never Fly Solo.” Waldman takes the lessons he learned during his service as a fighter pilot, and applies them to the business world. He was also listed in the Top 40 Under 40 Business Leaders in Georgia. As a speaker, Waldman can discuss topics such as the power of trust, top gun leadership and the power of partnership.
