Andini’s first toy was a box of transistors, and from there she began inventing her own toys using her hot glue gun and garbage from around the house. Her childhood was eclectic to say the least: infused with classical opera, silent movies from the 1910’s, taking old electronics apart, eating insects, collecting bones, filming and editing with her dad on his documentaries, and beginning her seven year long journey in the world of competitive science fairs. Andini grew up to be named one of Times Magazine’s 30 Under 30 World Changers, Forbes Magazine’s 30 Under 30, Entrepreneur Magazine’s Young Millionaires, Glamour Magazine’s College Women of the Year, Teen Vogue’s Global Earth Angels, and Popular Science Magazine’s Inventor of the Year. She has given 5 viral TEDx talks, has a minor planet named after her, and is one of the leading keynote speakers of her generation when it comes to talking on creativity, education, imagination, storytelling, and inventing.
26 year old Andini’s many passions have led her to being heralded as a modern day Renaissance Woman, and she is passionate about discussing the crucial yet often overlooked combination of science and art. Her unique upbringing led her to invent several inventions that went on to gain international recognition, specifically her Google Science Fair winning invention of the Hollow Flashlight, a flashlight that runs off the heat of the human hand, as well as the eDrink, a coffee mug that harvests the excess heat of your hot drink and converts it into electricity to charge your phone. Andini was invited by Jimmy Fallon onto The Tonight Show multiple times to show off her inventions. She was 15 years old when her invention of the flashlight went viral, and Andini was soon whisked away to speak all around the world at various schools, conferences, private events etc…
Andini’s unique experience as an inventor – but also as someone who is equally passionate about the arts – has made her one of the most in demand speakers when it comes to topics around how we can alter the educational system to foster more young inventors and problem solvers, as well as breaking down barriers between the arts and scientific fields.
Andini has frequently travelled the world delivering keynote talks, ranging from events hosted by McCann Erickson in NYC for their major clients, a private event at the Pictet Bank in Geneva, and the King Abdullah’s University for Science and Technology in Saudi Arabia where she presented talks to the university students, as well as local high school students. She also had the honour of being invited as a Youth Ambassador on the Canada C3 Expedition, where she sailed through the NorthWest Passage on an icebreaker, while talking to the students in remote Inuit communities. Andini was honored to be one of Canada’s five chosen representatives at the I7 in Turin, Italy, an innovation focused committee that reported their feedback on the Future of Work to the annual G7 conference. She also spoke at the Y20 Summit in Cordoba, Argentina, which was held in conjunction with the G20 conference.

Right before Covid began, Andini spoke for the Lili’uokalani Fund in Honolulu, a Girl Scouts event in Omaha, at the International Project Management Forum in Dubai, the closing awards ceremony for Red Bull Basement University in Toronto, and to various grades at the Zurich International School (ZIS).
During the pandemic, Andini resumed her Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Victoria, and ended up graduating June 2023 with a degree in English Literature and FIlm Studies. She continues to speak both in person, and also virtually – ranging from an engineering program run by the University of Tennessee, an online panel for the Filipino program Kids for Kids Habilin, a Workplace Skills conference for UVic Gustavson Business school, students of KAUST’s Gifted Student Program, and presenting at the Rukami Festival in Russia. Most recently, Andini finished the first draft of her book “The Inventing Mindset”, set to be published by Knopf Canada in Spring 2025. The book touches on many topics related to how to develop an ‘inventor’s mindset’, and discusses how the educational system needs to radically change, technology as a tool or terror, and the crucial yet often overlooked combination of science and art.
