Lorna Landvik

Lorna Landvik made her debut as a novelist with the critically acclaimed PATTY JANE’S HOUSE OF CURL. She is also the author of eleven other novels, including the best-selling ANGRY HOUSEWIVES EATING BON BONS, OH MY STARS and her most recent, CHRONICLES OF A RADICAL HAG (WITH RECIPES).

“Lorna is a guaranteed good time. She is clever, funny, warm, and witty on stage; and often surprises the audience with an impromptu musical interlude or yoga demonstration. There are not enough superlatives to give Lorna the praise she deserves. A Lorna Landvik presentation always gets a five star review.”
— Pamela Klinger-Horn, Sales & Events Coordinator, Excelsior Bay Books

As an actor/performer, she has done stand-up comedy, acted in many stage productions, been a troupe member of Dudley Riggs Brave New Workshop and for years has performed PARTY IN THE REC ROOM, a one-woman, all-improvised show in which she mixes up margaritas for selected audience members (and one for herself).

“Madame Landvik est formidable! Her intelligence, wit and humor are unmatched by any performer I have seen. I haven’t laughed so hard in a very long time.”

Lorna’s personal bio is filled with highlights and ones that don’t incriminate her include the following:
After high school, she and her best friend spent a year hitchhiking through Europe as well as working as chambermaids in Bavaria. While living in Hollywood, she performed stand-up and improvisational comedy and to pay the rent, worked a variety of jobs, including a five-month temporary assignment at the Playboy Mansion (it was strictly clerical). Lorna also worked at Atlantic Records and competed on three game shows, winning a trip to Tahiti with the actor who played MacGyver. In 1985, she walked across the country with her husband and then-toddler daughter as a member of the Great Peace March for Global Disarmament.

As a speaker, she combines good story-telling with laugh-out-loud entertainment. With her improvisational skills, she can also bring characters to life, characters she can specifically tailor to your organization. A ukulele may also be involved.

“Lorna was the perfect addition to our event. She immediately connected with our audience. Her presentation was engaging, thought provoking and laced with just the right amount of humor. She was so much fun!”
