Tom Aswell

Tom Aswell was named one of America’s Outstanding Young Men of 1978 by the U.S. Jaycees. That same year, he served on the Louisiana Governor’s Educational Priorities for the Future Committee.

Tom Aswell spent twenty-five years as a newspaper reporter and editor, and won numerous awards as an investigative journalist and feature writer. He has authored five books, the latest of which is a history of Louisiana rock & roll.

Tom Aswell currently works as a safety consultant for the state of Louisiana. On lark in 1992, he entered the Big Easy Laugh-Off in New Orleans and emerged with the title of Funniest Person in Louisiana.
