As a company founded in 1991, the evolution of social media has impacted the way in which we conduct business each and every day. From professional oriented platforms such as LinkedIn to more media savvy platforms like YouTube, the difference between each one is crucial. It has become more important than ever to understand how to capitalize on these social media sites and understand the ongoing changes they continue to make.
While there have been significant changes on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and even Blogger over the years, we have adjusted to the additions of #hashtags or the ability to tag anything from organizations to pets. By targeting a broad spectrum of individuals we have learned to narrow down the topics we choose to tweet post, share, etc. We have adjusted our content and scheduling in order to optimize our social media presence on these platforms. All in all, it is a continuous process that calls for a persistent stream of attention.
Most recently, the platform LinkedIn has allowed companies and individuals to post status updates, similar to Facebook. Originating as a place for professionals to connect, it has now become a place for businesses, professionals, and students to not only connect but to interact with one another. This is a perfect example of the extent to which social media is ever changing. Fortunately, we have experts who dedicate their energy to sharing valuable tips and information that allows users to gain insight on the transformation of social media.

Ekaterina Walter, a social media innovator at Intel is constantly sharing her insights on this topic. As author of the Wall Street Journal bestselling book “Think Like Zuck: The Five Business Secrets of Facebook’s Improbably Brilliant CEO Mark Zuckerberg”, she is extraordinarily in tune with the new social media tricks.

Another great example of a social media guru is Chris Brogan. With an impressive amount of information put out on a daily basis of social media tricks and trends, Brogan understands the challenges of adaptation but also knows how to channel acceptance.
While the changes in social media patterns will never remain still, experts in this field are able to help understand ways to adjust. Ekaterina Walter and Chris Brogan are just two of many social media guru’s on our roster. Be sure to check them all out here.
