Michael Matera is an innovative educator whose passion for changing the game of school is infectious. By day, Michael is a dynamic middle school Social Studies teacher at University School of Milwaukee. Proclaimed nationally and internationally as a gamification guru, Michael transforms the traditional classroom into a high-energy environment where active student engagement is paramount. He promotes student ownership of learning through experiential activities and the use of cutting-edge educational technologies that meet learning objectives as well as equip students for critical thinking beyond the classroom. Michael is an energetic trainer, who broadly shares his research, teaching methods and technological applications for the advancement of learners, teachers and administrators.
